February ushers in several celebrations, including Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day. Yet, none is more important than Black History Month. This month reminds us that civil rights come at a sobering price, including losing one’s life in the fight for equality. ALL persons of color benefited from the Civil Rights Movement. Unfortunately these hard-fought civil rights championed by the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr. are in jeopardy today.
