October is National Principals Month and the month to uplift their heroic work. Board Vice President Scott Schmerelson’s resolution (page 5) passed UNANIMOUSLY. Board members Schmerelson and McKenna understand the enormous sacrifices administrators make both personally and professionally as former and distinguished administrators. While the resolution rightly recognizes the endless dedication and accomplishments of site administrators, is it only lip service?
Good afternoon. My name is Nery Paiz I am the President of Associated Administrators of Los Angeles. I am somewhat conflicted by the purpose of this resolution and I will tell you why.
We do believe in the resolution and stand behind it 100% as Associated Administrators. We do believe in partnership and collaborating with HR and all the programs they offer to help advance the work of our administrators of our school employees. We stand with the Association of California School Administrators and all of the work they do on networking, PD, and also the advocacy behind their work in Sacramento and I know we also work with Martha Alvarez as well from government relations.
